Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to the ConnectUS Alumni Platform (the "Platform"), operated by Association Fulbright & Friends ("we," "us," or "our"), a non-profit organization registered in Belgrade, Serbia. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platform.

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.

2. Eligibility and Access

• The Platform is exclusively available to alumni of U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs, including but not limited to Fulbright, Humphrey, Ron Brown, IVLP, FLEX, and JFDP programs.
• Access to the Platform requires an invitation and account approval by the Platform administrator.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. User Accounts and Profiles

3.1. Profile Information

You may create and maintain a profile containing professional and biographical information. You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

3.2. Profile Editing

You may edit your own profile information at any time. Profile changes are subject to administrator approval before becoming visible to other users.

3.3. Profile Visibility

Your profile information will be visible to other registered users of the Platform. The Platform is not publicly accessible without authentication.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes. You agree NOT to:

• Provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Use the Platform for commercial solicitation without prior approval
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or its systems
• Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from the Platform
• Share your login credentials with unauthorized third parties

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1. Platform Ownership

The Platform, including its design, features, functionality, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Association Fulbright & Friends and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to your profile. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute such content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to submit the content and that such content does not violate any third-party rights.

6. Data Protection and Privacy

Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We collect, process, and store your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR where applicable.

By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Account Termination and Suspension

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting the Platform administrator. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to the Platform or other users.

Upon termination, your right to access and use the Platform will immediately cease. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.

We are not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or content of user profiles and information provided by other users.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Association Fulbright & Friends, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform and updating the Effective Date. Your continued use of the Platform after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Serbia. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belgrade, Serbia.

12. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Association Fulbright & Friends regarding the Platform. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
